The NEW SPORT 400 from BAVARIA: More possibilities - More freedom
"To accommodate more freedom on a motor yacht without compromises was the key goal during the creation of the new SPORT 400. We wanted to offer more freedom in the usage pattern of the SPORT 400 for our customers“, explains Meik Lessig, Head of Sales and Aftersales at BAVARIA.
A newly designed seating area at the stern of the SPORT 400 has been created which can be easily transformed into a sun pad. Relaxing in the sun during the day or enjoying a sundowner in the evening with friends can now take place in the same spot. Also the multifunctionality of the seating areas in the cockpit creates spaces for enjoyable dinners at night or another couch area through one easy flip of the back supports to join up with the sun bench on the opposite side of the steering wheel. These are only two of the many solutions available on the SPORT 400 to create possibilities for the owners freedom of use.
Following the premiere of the SPORT 360 COUPE, BAVARIA also presents the SPORT 400 in a COUPE version. The SPORT 400 COUPE offers the perfect all-round view, just open the electric sunroof and the generous glass sliding doors to the stern and the saloon becomes a very spacious cockpit.
The Sport 400HT offers comfort and luxury combined with functionality. Open the sunroof and invite the sun into the cockpit, the SPORT 400 HT offers luxury and space for the perfect day on the water. The open cockpit and a big swimming platform are the ideal places to relax during anchoring or in port.
Owners of the SPORT 400 HT will get the maximum of flexibility through the wide soft-top which can easily regulate the preferred amount of sun in the cockpit. For those who like it more open, then the classical SPORT 400 OPEN may be the perfect choice.
Marco Casali and his team of the Italian design agency TOO DESIGN have lifted the design of the SPORT 400 to new dimensions. The shape of the hull includes years of knowledge of the nautical architects at Insenaval S.L. who have also constructed many mega yachts. The modern, stylish and functional interior comes from Design Unlimited. However, the SPORT 400 got her finishing touches and technical details from the designers and constructors at BAVARIA who have put all their experience into this new motor yacht.
The owner's cabin in the bow which can proudly be called a suite, offers of a lot of stowage capacity for everything needed, from the T-shirt up to the evening dress. The saloon and the galley invite for the perfect dinner or a relaxed enjoyment of an evening on board. Guests will enjoy the large comfortable VIP's cabin.

BAVARIA SPORT 360 - DESIGN IN NEW DIMENSIONS
The SPORT 360 BAVARIA has redefined the design of motor yachts and sets a
new milestone in terms of driving dynamics, comfort and space utilization.
Besides the Open and Hardtop SPORT versions, BAVARIA will be launching a new
Coupe at a World Premiere in early September at the Oslo Boat Show.
Open, hardtop or as a coupe, the new SPORT 360 has become even more
versatile. The entire cockpit was designed according to modern requirements
and it has become a real social area on the boat. The seating area with
cockpit table at the rear is a fantastic place for a relaxing drink or
dinner with friends in the evening. During the day this area is easily
converted in just a few steps to a fantastic and unusually large sun bathing
area.
The design by Marco Casali and his team at the Italian design agency TOO
DESIGN, have kept amazingly beautiful and clean lines in this new SPORT 360.
The hull form uses all the knowledge of nautical architects Insenaval SL,
which has also designed and constructed many super yachts. The modern,
stylish and functional interior comes from Design Unlimited. The finishing
touches and all the technical details in the 360 are from the designers and
engineers of the BAVARIA SPORT line and all their previous experiences are
incorporated in this new motor yacht.
Even with a new hard top concept, the SPORT 360 reaches new highs in the
design of motor yachts in this size range, large windows create a spacious
360 degree view. Also a new soft-top version will be found in the price
list.
"We have analyzed the needs of our customers along with our dealers around
the world and incorporate them into the new SPORT 360. A requirement of the
market was to build a coupe BAVARIA also in this size range. The lines of
the SPORT 360 realize our plans and we have succeeded very well with this
new model" explained Meik Lessig, Head of Sales and After Sales at BAVARIA.
Attention to detail, experience and a demanding technical level have been
the premises of the designers and engineers at BAVARIA in the development of
the interior of the new SPORT 360. They range from the choice of fabrics and
woods to the newly designed helm where a functional and simple design were
key to this area. The instruments have been arranged according to the
strictest ergonomic requirements. Nothing should distract the driver from
driving fun, all controls and displays can be operated intuitively.

BAVARIA SETS A NEW SALES RECORD
A total of 102 BAVARIA yachts were sold at the boot show in Duesseldorf
BAVARIA enjoyed a staggering result with 102 customers deciding at the exhibition to buy a BAVARIA sailing yacht or motorboat. This is not only a new show sales record for BAVARIA itself, but also among 1,600 exhibitors at the boat Dusseldorf.
All yachts should be still delivered during this season which not only secures jobs in Giebelstadt but allows for further recruitment.
Three questions to Constantin von Bülow the CEO of Bavaria Yachtbau GmbH:
To sell 102 sailing and motor yachts in only nine days is quite an effort. Did you expect to achieve such a record?
Constantin von Bülow:
Already during the autumn boatshows in Europe we have seen a positive tendency towards our products at BAVARIA. However, with 102 clear orders on the boot we have surpassed our own expectations. It has shown that it was the right decision to present our complete range of products in Dusseldorf along with our 20 traders from 12 nations. In only 15 months we have put more than 10 new sailing yachts on the market and have provided our motor yacht lines with some attractive equipment packages. This is appreciated by the market now.
Did you previously know the customers that have placed orders at the boot?
Constantin von Bülow: Not only owners and charter companies who already own a BAVARIA yacht before have now ordered new ones. We are more than happy to see new customers who have previously owned a yacht from one of our competitors who have now decided to switch and place an order for a new BAVARIA yacht as well as some who have not owned a yacht before.
What reasons do your customers give for buying a BAVARIA yacht?
Constantin von Bülow: The high quality and the attractive design of our yachts were the most commonly mentioned purchase reasons that we heard from customers which encourages us in our brand strategy and product development. We have invested a lot of time and money in these areas because we are convinced that customers are not detracted today just by good design during their purchase decision, but spend more time looking at all the details of a yacht. We have found the perfect balance in the production with boatbuilding and more fashionably industrial manufacturing. We order only high-quality equipment from our suppliers. Put all this together and we get the right mix to successfully sell yachts. The development in the yacht sector has not finished yet, however, with BAVARIA we have achieved the range turnaround and our success at the boot in Dusseldorf proves this quite clearly.
With BAVARIA the signs are clearly pointing towards growth.
In spite of a still difficult market situation in many countries of Europe the German shipyard continuously increases its market shares. The order book keeps filling up and now it requires more staff to supply and to enhance further markets. An ideal chance for the start of a career in the yacht construction sector.

“More yachts, more work” is the simple formula for the production of motor and sailing yachts in Giebelstadt this year. On the 200,000 square metre site and in 70,000 square metres of the production halls, traditional boatbuilding crafts combine with the most modern industrial manufacturing of yachts. “Made in Germany” and “Quality” are the biggest assets at BAVARIA since 1978. Now certified and skilled workers are require for in skills ranging from engine installation up to the trainee in Industrial Design.

BAVARIA’s first flybridge yacht has set itself apart from impressive competition right from the start and clearly demonstrates the innovative spirit and design quality of boats from Giebelstadt by winning a number of awards. With only a few months into the new year, the Virtess 420 Fly has already won three of the most prestigious awards in the marine industry.
BAVARIA was delighted to receive the prestigious European Powerboat of the Year Award. The high-performance Virtess 420 Fly outperformed four other shortlisted boats to win the “Yachts up to 45 foot” category. Design, handling, safety on board and value-for-money were among the main test criteria.
The VIRTESS 420 Fly then continued to win yet another award. The MOTOR BOAT OF THE YEAR AWARD 2013 in the “Flybridge yachts up to 55 ft” category. The award is organised by Motor Boat & Yachting, Motor Boats Monthly and ybw.com and is the most important British design award for motor boats
The Nautical Design Award is presented every year to the yacht with the most innovative and demanding design. The prestigious prize is awarded by an international panel of experts, which includes members of the Association for Industrial Design (ADI) as well as leading designers such as Giorgio Armani, Giorgio Orsoni, Lamberto Vallarino Gancia, Vittorio Missoni and Walter de Silva (chairman).
The VIRTESS 420 was selected ahead of the other nominated models: the Pershing 82, Austin Parker 64 Fly, Ocean King 88 and the Prestige 620.
“The Nautical Design Award represents a sensational success for BAVARIA and a significant step forward for us in the luxury yacht market. We’re delighted that our first flybridge – which was only premiered this autumn – has received the most important nautical design award,” said Alexander Knesewitsch, Head of Marketing and PR at BAVARIA.
